Timeslicer 1.8.3

Timeslicer 1.8.3 rebuilds Home around today, and moves your blocking history off our servers onto your own computer.

Home is today

• Home now shows today's timeline, with the task you are working on right now above it.
• Beside it: your top apps and websites, your time by category, and what got blocked today.
• The old Top websites and Recent blocks cards are gone. The day view covers both.
• Top apps and websites is no longer filtered, so distracting sites appear there too. It is what your day actually was.

Your day, summarized

• The Timeline's day view opens with a summary: hours worked, time by category, the apps and websites you spent longest in, and what was blocked.
• Work hours count up live while you work, instead of waiting for the day to end.
• Copy a whole day to the clipboard from the Timeline nav.

Blocking

• Block rules can now target a single section of a site instead of the whole domain, so you can block one part of a site and keep the rest.
• The blocking calendar header is the month navigation, so you can move between months directly.
• Removing a URL rule and dismissing a setup card now work. Both were dead clicks.
• Self-defined tasks are gone. The task Timeslicer infers is the task.

Your blocking history stays on this computer

• Blocking history now lives on your device instead of our servers. The last 90 days are copied across the first time you open this version.
• It no longer syncs between computers. From here each machine keeps its own history, and your lifetime blocked count is per computer.
• Your daily unblocks are per computer too.
• Click View all on any day to see everything blocked that day.

Fixes

• Windows: a crashed renderer reloads instead of leaving a white window.
• Safari: the extension no longer shows as disconnected until you restart it.
• Team: the member view follows the calendar when you page back through earlier weeks.
